Abstract

The synthesis of metallic nanoparticles from various parts of plants, such as seeds, roots, leaves, flowers, and fruits, has been extensively documented in the literature. Among the different synthesis approaches, green synthesis is a secure, regulated, and environmentally friendly technique for producing nanoparticles. In contrast, the alternative widely employed method, chemical synthesis, has a negative environmental impact due to the discharge of hazardous and highly reactive substances into the surroundings. Consequently, this present review focuses on diverse synthesis methods for nanoparticles, with a specific emphasis on the green approach employing various plant extracts. Commonly employed agents for biosynthesis include extracts from plant parts microorganisms, and proteins, all of which act as reducing agents. Within this review, we delve into the intricacies of synthesis techniques, characterization procedures, inherent properties, and the versatile applications of ZnO nanoparticles that are synthesized utilizing various parts of plants.
